Pushing test *Final*

Couple of days ago, I finally finished the pushing test I was working on for the past few weeks. Thanks to some good and valuable feedback I was given by some of you, I pushed this exercise further to achieve the fluidity I was after. I also  shaved 13 seconds of the animation towards the end (which I am quite happy about).

There are still few small timing tweaks I would like to do but overall I am pretty happy about the end result.

Anyway, enough of me rambling, here goes.

WIP - Pushing - Final pass

For those of you who were wondering what happened to the unfinished “Pushing” exercise I started some time ago, I finally managed to look at it again over the past few days. Sorry my schedule was busy with a lot of distractions.

I added the follow through and overlap and then continued on with the in-between pass. The more I worked on it, the more I kept on editing the timing and spacing of the actions. Overall I am quite content with the timing of the character, however I still need to work more on the cube that he pushes and how it swings before it crashes him. The timing of it doesn’t really work for me yet.

Anyway, here it is so you can judge for yourself. Any comments or feedback is most welcome.

Animating to dialogue exercise - blocking pass

After the CG Talk animation challenge I was quite inspired with all the great work the other animators did. Even though my work didn’t score a lot of votes, I was quite happy with it. I decided not to waste any time and jump straight into the next bit I am going to work on.

It’s an audio clip from the movie “Back to the Future”. I spent a whole afternoon filming myself around the house, saying the lines from the movie, over and over again. At the end I looked through the reference footage I took and I drew the key poses I think work the best.

The you spend time planning, the smoother your work-flow become. I am loving it!

Any feedback or constructive criticism is most welcome.

New Demo Reel May 2007

After a hectic few days, I finally managed to put my show reel together (Yay!). It still needs a little bit of work but it showcases what I have been up to over the past few months.
