Final Shot Feb 08

A couple of days ago, I received some good ol harsh loving from a fellow animator. His feedback gave me a handful of things to think about and consider about my shot. Even though his suggestions meant I had to redo a lot of my poses, I decided to take in almost everything he pointed out to me into account and apply it to my animation.

The past three days were literally like a race against time, as I really wanted to get the job done before the deadline as well as getting the shot to a level I am satisfied with.

Other than the lip sync that still needs a lot of love, I am quite happy with the flow and the overall intensity of the shot.

Nearly there

This weekend I had some time so I pushed my shot a little bit more. It feels like I am  slowly getting there in general. Even though there are still a few days before it’s due I hope I will have more time to make it even better.

More WIP

The first pass of the dialouge shot went well, I recieved some constructive criticism from different people which helped me to push some of the elements my shot was lacking. I mainly looked at tightening up the timing in various section of the shot and hitting the right accents at the right time.  The lip sync, however it’s not quite there yet and needs more work.

Check in again for some more updates soon.

New Dialouge shot

Over the past couple of days I started to work on a new dialouge shot for this month’s competition at the 11 second club.

Even though this month’s audio clip has two voices, I decided to have a go at a different interpretation then having just two characters in the shot.

The contrast in the voices made me feel the good and bad in the voices, the right and wrong, the one who thinks about whats the right thing to do and the other who thinks about what is good for himself.

This shot is extremely challenging for me because I am trying to convey two different states of mind of the same person. To visualized it I chose to go with a devil and an angel, each symbolizes a different approach to the dilemma the middle character is in.

What I have done so far is only the first pass on all the poses and a very rough and quick lip sync. I am aware it needs A LOT of work still.

If you are still with me up until this point, I am terribly sorry if I confuses you in any way. Take a look at the clip below and judge for yourself.

Please let me know if you have any comments, thoughts or constructive criticism that might help me push this a little further.
