Where Is Everybody?

Posted by Avner Engel in Animation

Hey guys,

I started working on this insect animation test yesterday to see how much I can push it in a short period of time. Before I started I came up with a short back story that really helped me keep the motion and the timing of the poses in context to what I wanted to achieve.

So far I managed to block it and slowly move out of stepped keys into spline. There is still a lot of work to be done though.

Very nice buddy, i feel the head turns are a bit quick 103-104 and also 120-121 i think a tweak in the spacing will help.

Also at the end just as Ant is about to leave screen it’s back right leg reads a bit of a pop.

Thats all i have, great idea dude.

    Avner!

Realy nice! Love the jerky, start-stop action. You got a lot of nice cartoony appeal out of a fairly literal model. Good job!

    hellos! looking good av!

I agree with robbie those head turns or movements are a bit quick at those frames even 135-150 might be a tad quick. Also those turns look a bit too linear..maybe add some slight arcs in those turns?

I like the overlaps of the butt that you have at around 80-150
    cool stuff!

    Hey Av, looks good!

I agree about 140-160ish being a little too fast. Almost like it goes from realistic to cartoon there.

40-45 when the back goes down maybe rotating drag that bum up a little?

    Keep going matey

    Nino
