Final revision for March 11 second club

Ok, so after the inspiring class I had last weekend I decided to tackle this March piece I submitted for the 11 Second Club one more time.

This time I went for the “less is more” approach. I tried to act within the poses or in other words just simplify them. The amount of gestures my character did was ridiculous so I toned it down as well as adding subtle attention to the eyes and the hands.

Overall, it just felt like my piece was going in the right direction but it was overacted too much. Thats why I decided to spend a few more days and give it the treatment it deserves.

I also showed it to Andrew last weekend and he gave me some great things to think about and take into consideration. I hope I manage to incorporate most of them.

Revising my March Submission

Based on the feedback and critiques I got from people in the last competition, I have decided to try and add that element of finesse my animation was lacking.

One of the comments I received was about hitting “invisible walls” and not having ease in and out of poses. To fix that I tried to tackle the area I thought was the busiest and I tried to simplify it. At the beginning it was a very hard to work on cause most of my frames were on ones and twos. I had to go in and literally clean up the mass.

I guess I am learning a lesson here.

So here I am putting the first revision I did, it’s not splined yet because I wanted to get some feedback from the community before I actually start smoothing those curves out.

Please let me know what you think, any kind of feedback or critique is welcome.

March-Submission

This is what I submitted to the March competition of the 11 second club.

Nearly there…

Quick update of my shot, two more days to go until it’s due. I am trying to tackle last major issues but overall now it’s all about making all the expressions and the energy flow in a very fluid manner.

If you see anything that stand out to you, please drop me a line and let me know.

And a little bit more…
